I was asked by some ladies from my church to make a vintage cake for a dinner we were having one evening. Of course, I went a little overboard, but I am very happy with the results :)
This cake was made with a bottom layer of chocolate cake, a top layer of white cake and my special raspberry/blackberry filling for in-between layers. I used a basic buttercream frosting to cover the cake and used gum paste for the roses and fondant for the ribbons.
Here is a close-up of the ribbons...I am very proud of these :)
